OFFICE MAX FALSE PRICE ADVERTISING!!
by miabella707, November 18, 2007
|
|||||
|
Office Max has a very bad reputation for misleading information. This methodology of theirs is called "FALSE ADVERTISEMENT", and is against the law. They mislead clients with false advertising TO GET THEM TO their stores or online store with false PRICES. FOR EXAMPLE: Announcing on Shopping.com a price that when you click will take you to the exact item priced $100 or more dollars on top of the advertised price. I will surely get my word of mouth around. They did not even have the decensy to honor the advertised price for me ALTHOUGH I PRINTED THE PAGE as proof.
I have placed a report on them with the Bureau false advertising! The worst reputation for a company is bad word of mouth! I think Shopping.com should ban this type of seller! |

Probably one of the easiest purchases I've made. I walked into the store, found someone in a company shirt and handed her the previous package of the ink I was looking for. I had my replacement within 5 minutes. I took that replacement to any cashier with the shortest line. She scanned it, I paid, I left. Quick easy in, quick easy out.

I bought an office chair on-line from OfficeMax TWO MONTHS AGO. Four weeks into waiting, I was assured it took a little longer because I picked the fabric out myself. I just called again, another month gone by and now they tell me I probably will not be getting it. No other explanation but customer service said they would put a trace on it and would contact me in 24 hours. Yeh, right.

Good sale prices don't make up for bad selection, service, and website
by davidyorke, May 10, 2006

Office Max has good sale prices, but lousy selection, a second-rate website, and inept service.
OfficeMax.com is a pain to navigate, especially when you don't know the exact model number of the item you want. I THOUGHT that I found what I wanted and ordered it. Their website doesn't give package tracking information, so I had to call customer service to get my UPS tracking number and find out when my order would arrive. When it arrived, I found out the website incorrectly described the item I ordered, so I had to return it. Their customer service told me I could return the item for a refund to a local store, but they said they could only give me a store credit. I wanted to order the item they described (Bush Pencil Drawer AC99850), but since they don't have it in their catalog, I can't order it from them. Check out their prices, but buy from somewhere else with a price-matching policy and better service. I also posted this review to OfficeMax's page, as that is the merchant that shows up on the furniture product pages that redirect to OfficeMax.com. http://www.epinions.com/content_230655495812 |

I shopped for the lowest price on adobe photoshop elements plus premier elements and office max was listed as lowest price. when I attempted to purchase the item, low and behold the price was for adobe photoshop elements only, a few pennies less than retail. Had I not scrutinized the order carefully, I would have been boned and not gotten what I thought I had purchased. I chose the next lowest bidder, nothingbutsoftware and saved 35 bucks over what office max wanted (once I finally located the correct product). Additionally, according to office max, I could get it in just nine days |

If you must buy, go to the store, don't do it online

After placing an order online for an Olympus digital camera, and going through the prompts confirming the camera was available, and available with next day (or 2-3 day delivery at worst)delivery. I got an email the next day delaying the delivery date to 5-7 days. Had it not been for the holidays, which is when I wanted to use the camera, I might have waited. I called them, got a rep who said "what do you want me to do, drive it to your house" and hung up. After numerous calls, and 30 dollars for overnight shipping charges, the I got the camera. I would never ever ever shop here again.

Okay. So, I was looking for a piece of merchandise, which I found at Officemax.com for a good price. First, I went to the store, and asked if they had it. They said no, but they would be able to order it from the manufacturer. So, I thought well how much harm could be done. Ordered on Dec 12. Status said would be shipped by Dec. 15. By Dec. 20, it still hadn't shipped, and the website still claimed "will ship by Dec. 15." So, after calling Office Max's 1-800 number, only to find out that that specific model had been discontinued, and mislabled on their site, I checked my e-mail. I had recieved an email from them saying that my order had been canceled, when in fact I had not cancelled it. Now, the product is no longer on their site, but the status shows "has been shipped and will arrive by Dec 15." I also got no tracking number. I will never buy from Office Max again!!!

Don't order anything from Office Max. You'll be sorry.

We ordered new desks and other furniture from Orifice max (misspelling is intentional)and when it didn't arrive as promised we learned some very interesting things. First, Orifice Max doesn't handle these orders themselves, in this case it went through O'Sullivan who subcontracted it to a local vendor in our area. The local vendor, which Orifice Max can't or won't name, refuses to deliver our merchandise until O'Suffivan gives them the proper order numbers. I suspect that someone isn't paying their bills or the mystery subcontractor might be more reasonable. Hummm? Anyway many, many calls to customer service have taught us that Orifice Max has four customer service call centers and that each time one calls a different, but totally clueless rep. handles the call. Finally a "manager" Fred Prince was given the problem. When we were transfered to his office, our call was mysteriously "dropped." After subsequent calls we got a direct extension to his line and several calls later we keep getting his voice mail saying he is "away from the desk or helping another customer." Isn't that convenient? In the meantime we are working out of boxes, sitting on the floor, and getting madder and madder.

Great Coupons But Terrible Customer Service
by crusader69, August 7, 2004
|
|||||||
|
The Positive
OfficeMax frequently sends out great coupon savings, which can really assist smaller home-based businesses. The Negative 1. The web site for ordering is VERY slow; 2. The selection is very poor. For example, the only type of white No. 9 envelope they carry on-line is a window envelope. They also do not carry Avery mini-sheet labels (which are very popular) and many other popular items; 3. Their customer service is horrific; 4. Ordering on-line OR on the telephone is NOT a fast and simple project. Today I spent more than an HOUR on-line to place a simple order. OfficeMax needs to completely revamp their on-line ordering program and search engine. They need to train customer service people so that the shopping experience can be more productive for everyone! |

This company (Office Max)cheats people with the discount cards they send in the mail.It is probably an attempt to draw business away from their biggest competitor Office Depot.They probably save millions of dollars by forgetting to honor the discount cards or giving people the run around trying to get their discount until they give up etc,etc...They run things like professional carnival workers ,they are liars!This seems to be the new American way,Office Max must be owned by people who belong to the Democrat Party!
