Epinions For $10 after rebate, it's just fine

by  sirwired,  Dec 15, 2005
Pros: Cheap, easy to setup for most users.
Cons: Not compatible with multi-function printers. (This is a limitation of ALL generic external print servers.)
The Bottom Line: For what it costs (after rebate), it is a fine product. Make sure it works with your printer before cutting out any barcodes though.
Review: There is really not much to say about this little box. It does exactly what D-Link says it does. The unit is compact (about 4x4x1.5) and it comes with a small power supply that only takes a single outlet space, unlike some of the bricks shipped ...

Epinions Does the trick.

by  economy1,  Mar 9, 2008
Pros: Small and affordable.
Cons: D-Link management interface is clunky.
The Bottom Line: If you have an older printer that still works fine, you can patch it into your wireless network and print wirelessly.

Epinions My review

by  chrisjohnson00,  May 6, 2004
Pros: Small, Cheap, does the job
Cons: Too slow. Not enough spooling memory (if there is any at all).
Review: Works as a print server, and like most of the other low end print servers is extreamly slow. This works great for printing one thing at a time, but if you print more than one document (not page) at a time they sometimes overlap (on the same page!). If ...

Epinions Firmware Updates Necessary! But impossible to do!!!

by  hitechuser,  Dec 26, 2007
Pros: A very compact product.
Cons: Firmware cannot be upgraded via web browser. PS Admin software sucks!
The Bottom Line: Nice idea for a product, but absolutely horrible to use as-is. D-Link support sucks!!! PS Admin should be called POS Admin.
Review: Chances are you'll need the latest version 2.10 firmware upgrade for the DP-301U. Version 2.10 fixes several bugs, and provides compatibility with many printers. My brand new DP-301U came with long outdated firmware, right out of the box. Any ways, ...
